In Aion 2, the Stigma system has been redesigned as a modern “talent system” with specialized paths for your skills. Mastering it is key to building a powerful character. Here’s a simple guide to unlocking and using Stigma Shards effectively.



Unlocking Stigma Slots



Slots are the foundation of your build, and they open progressively as you level up:



Initial Access: Complete your faction’s level 20 Stigma quest—“Sliver of Darkness” for Elyos or “No Escaping Destiny” for Asmodians—to unlock your first two regular slots. You’ll also get roughly 300–500 Stigma Shards to get started.

Level-Based Progression: New slots typically unlock every 10 levels (levels 30 and 40).

Advanced/Greater Slots: Higher-tier slots for stronger abilities become available from level 45 onward. Unlocking these often requires completing group quests or instances, like Taloc's Hollow, to collect special items such as Taloc's Shards.

Farming Stigma Shards



Shards are your key currency for equipping and swapping skills. Keep your stash high with these methods:



Abyss Activities: Farming monsters and completing Abyss contracts reliably earn shards.

Transcendence Content: Updated dungeons drop shards in addition to regular loot.

Daily & Repeatable Quests: Look for repeatable quests like Supply Requests or command contracts; they reward Abyss points, sometimes exchangeable for Stigma-related items.

Shugo Mini-Games: Events like the Shugo Festival can provide shards along with other progression materials.

Pro Tips for Usage

Visit the Stigma Master: Equip or change stones at a Stigma Master in major capitals like Sanctum or Pandaemonium.

Strategic Swapping: Equipping a Stigma consumes shards, and these are not refunded if you remove it. Plan your build carefully before committing.

Vision Stigmas: Equipping six specific “non-limited” Stigmas unlocks a Vision Stigma, a unique bonus skill determined by your combination.

Specialize, Don’t Generalize: With 40+ skills available, it’s impossible to max everything. Focus on a “tripod-style” specialization for your role, whether solo or group play.
