Can't decide between two garages for my A4's transmission - help me choose (12 อ่าน)

So I've got a 2017 A4 2.0 TDI that's developed this really annoying vibration when the gearbox is changing between 4th and 5th gear under light acceleration, and I've finally accepted that I need to get it sorted before it gets worse. I've narrowed it down to two places based on recommendations from friends and online reviews, but I'm honestly torn and could use some outside perspective. The first place is a well-known general German specialist that's been around for years and has pretty good reviews, but they work on all sorts of brands and I'm not sure how much they really know about the specific intricacies of Audi's multitronic transmission. The second place is a smaller workshop that focuses exclusively on Audis and I've heard they really know their stuff when it comes to these gearboxes, but they're a bit more expensive and a bit further from where I live. I did some digging online and saw that auditransmissionrepair.ae is mentioned quite a bit in some of the local Audi groups, and it seems like the smaller specialist might actually be the better choice despite the higher cost because they'll have the proper diagnostic equipment and genuine parts on hand. I'm just worried about spending more money at the specialist only to find out the issue is something simple that the general garage could have fixed for less, but then again I've also heard horror stories of general garages messing up Audi transmissions because they didn't follow the correct procedures. Has anyone here used either type of garage and can share their experience? I'm leaning towards the specialist but I want to make sure I'm not just paying extra for the sake of it when the other place might do just as good a job. Really appreciate any insights from people who've been through this decision process.
