I have a small problem that is turning into a big headache, so I hope someone here has seen it before. I have a 2017 GMC Sierra and I use it for work every day, mostly driving between job sites. For about two weeks now the AC is cold when I am driving on the road, but when I stop at a light or wait in the car at a site, the air slowly turns warm. When I start moving again it gets cold after a minute. My boss says it is just the heat and tells me to stop worrying. My cousin has an old Yukon and he said it could be the cooling fan not spinning when the truck is standing still. I did not know the fan had anything to do with the AC, so one night I read about it online. I opened a page about GMC cars on a Sharjah website to learn how the fan, the condenser and the gas work together. It said that when the truck is not moving, the fan has to pull air through the front, and if it is weak or the front is blocked with dust, the AC will not cool well. That made sense to me, because I drive on dusty roads all the time. Then a coworker told me to look for a Top GMC AC repair workshop near Industrial Area 11 and ask them to check the fan and clean the front before they touch the gas or the compressor. I liked that advice because I do not want to pay for a part I do not need. So I have some questions. Is it normal for an AC to get weaker at idle even when everything is fine, or does it point to a problem? Can I check if the fan is spinning myself, and how would I do that safely? Should the garage clean the condenser first, since I work in dusty places? And how long does this kind of check take, because I cannot leave the truck for many days? If you had the same problem on your Sierra, Yukon or Silverado, please tell me what fixed it and about how much you paid. Thanks a lot.
