Restaurants on Septic Systems: Why Your Kitchen Is Harder on Septic Than a House (5 อ่าน)

<span dir="auto" style="vertical-align: inherit;"><span dir="auto" style="vertical-align: inherit;">Hi everyone,</span></span>
<span dir="auto" style="vertical-align: inherit;"><span dir="auto" style="vertical-align: inherit;">We run a septic service company, and some of our hardest-working customers are restaurants and food businesses. A commercial kitchen puts a septic system under pressure a normal house never does, and kitchen owners are often surprised by it. The main reasons:</span></span>
<span dir="auto" style="vertical-align: inherit;"><span dir="auto" style="vertical-align: inherit;">Grease (FOG — fats, oils and grease) — kitchen grease is the number one septic killer in food businesses. It builds up in the tank, escapes to the drain field and clogs the soil. A properly sized, regularly pumped grease trap/interceptor is not optional for a kitchen on septic.</span></span>
<span dir="auto" style="vertical-align: inherit;"><span dir="auto" style="vertical-align: inherit;">Water volume — dishwashing, cleaning and food prep all day means far more water than a home produces. Systems sized "like a house" fail early under a restaurant.</span></span>
<span dir="auto" style="vertical-align: inherit;"><span dir="auto" style="vertical-align: inherit;">Cleaning chemicals — heavy degreasers and sanitizers, used in quantity, kill the bacteria the tank depends on to break down waste.</span></span>
<span dir="auto" style="vertical-align: inherit;"><span dir="auto" style="vertical-align: inherit;">Solids and food waste — garbage disposals and un-scraped plates send solids that fill the tank much faster, so pumping intervals shrink — restaurants often need pumping far more often than homes.</span></span>
<span dir="auto" style="vertical-align: inherit;"><span dir="auto" style="vertical-align: inherit;">The practical takeaway: if your restaurant, cafe or food shop runs on a septic system, it needs a maintenance schedule designed for a kitchen — grease trap service, more frequent pumping and periodic inspections — not the "every few years" thinking that works for a house.</span></span>
<span dir="auto" style="vertical-align: inherit;"><span dir="auto" style="vertical-align: inherit;">We're Septic Tank Man </span></span><span dir="auto" style="vertical-align: inherit;"><span dir="auto" style="vertical-align: inherit;">https://theseptictankman.com</span></span><span dir="auto" style="vertical-align: inherit;"><span dir="auto" style="vertical-align: inherit;"> — septic inspections, repairs and installations in North Port, Florida.
